Synergy in security services is a hot topic
As a consumer, where do you prefer to do your shopping? In a store with good quality products, with fresh produce where you can also buy clothes as well as electronics. This is also true for the security sector. According to Ron Meijer, Manager Facility Services at pharmaceutical company MSD, customers benefit from Interseco becoming part of the Securitas organisation.
Services of Interseco and Securitas
MSD makes use of both Interseco and Securitas services. ‘Securitas provides traditional security staff and security staff for reception areas. Interseco is used for specialist jobs: investigations, training programmes and security assessments. We asked them to monitor our overall security in Oss in the Netherlands and they investigate the cause of incidents. I have worked with Interseco for twenty years now.’
Sensitive investigations
These investigations are sensitive because of privacy rules and regulations. ‘It is very important that these kinds of investigations are conducted according to the correct procedures. We have agreed with our works council that we will only let a very reliable partner carry out these tasks. Interseco knows our company culture very well because we have worked with them for a very long time. What’s more, they truly believe in what they do. To Interseco, integrity comes first. It is more important than commercial aspects.'
Findings from assessments shared
Meijer observes that there are dozens of ways in which customers can benefit from the cooperation between Interseco and Securitas. ‘Findings from assessments, for example, can be shared more easily with operational security staff at Securitas. This connection is faster and easier to make. Matters like these will lead to further improving security processes.’
Excellent match
Meijer is convinced that Interseco and Securitas are an excellent match. To him, Interseco is a no-nonsense firm that quickly meets the demands of their clients. His experience with Securitas is relatively new: ‘We began to work together just over a year ago now. It takes time to get used to each other. However, I have experienced the same values with Securitas that also apply to Interseco. They provide a personal service; we have our own contact person and both organisations are proactive and think in terms of solutions for our issues.’
International elements
The international cooperation is another advantage. Companies such as MSD have substantial interests abroad and we want advice from the best experts on international security matters. ‘Just like other multinationals we increasingly work with regions. The availability of services in an international region is crucial to us. One contact person and the certainty of uniform services. These are important issues for MSD when choosing a supplier.’
Focus on security
With us at MSD, security is one of our focus points. ‘In the pharmaceutical industry we are not only confronted with traditional crimes such as theft and fraud, but also with the threat of activism. Both in terms of the consultancy services offered by Interseco and in terms of operations we focus on this aspect of security.’ In addition, there is increasing attention for leakages from within. ‘This is an aspect that we focus on during our training programmes. The issues that are raised during the training sessions have to be converted to the practical, operational side of the business and locked into the instructions and procedures of our quality system.’
